Weekend Reading for July 1 and 2, 2017
Tuberose, Phlox, and Primrose from Botanical Inspirations
Tuberose – Dangerous Pleasure
Message: If you never take risks and allow yourself a few “dangerous pleasures” you will never discover your own true colors. (directly from booklet)
If you move forward through life always staying on a straight path, taking controlled, safe steps, and restraining yourself from seeing how the other side lives, you will never know if you may enjoy it and as you age, you may look back with regret.
This card suggests this may be a good time to live a little dangerously. Be open and try something you thought you never would. You can be a responsible adult and still have some guilty pleasures.
Phlox – Unanimity and Harmony
Message: One single flower does not make a bouquet. One voice alone cannot create harmony. (directly from booklet)
This card signifies the accomplishments resulting by working in unity; working as a team in harmony.
When people work together and are open minded to each other’s ideas, opinions, and thought processes, progress in made and goals become attainable. And when the opposite occurs, it creates obstacles and slows down progress, sometimes to a halt.
Be open to views that differ than yours. You may be surprised at what you might learn and who knows, it may even change your thinking.
Primrose – Youthful Love
Message: When we are young we are willing to take chances in love. (directly from booklet)
This card reminds me of the innocence of the Fool card in Tarot. Primrose advises you to continue to be open and take chances as we grow older, in the same manner you did when you were younger and naïve. You shouldn’t let past experiences taint that confidence, enthusiasm, and no holds bar attitude you used to have.
In addition, don’t limit yourself by having a long list of requirements a potential partner needs to meet before you’ll even consider talking to them. When we get older, we become aware of our priorities and in turn, this list reflects these ideals. Which is not a bad thing however, when we begin to include superficial things such as someone’s looks, height, and what type of car they need to drive, we then limit ourselves and in the end, we the ones missing out.
One bold message is clearly present in all three of these cards – be open minded.
Be open minded to living on the edge once and while, but of course don’t go overboard.
Be open minded to other people’s views.
Be open minded in your love life.
Have a fun, safe weekend!
Happy 4th of July!
For those of us who live in the U.S.A., this is July 4th weekend. July 4th is our federal holiday celebrating and commemorating our Declaration of Independence in 1776, from Great Britain. It’s considered a long weekend because many establishments close such as banks, post offices, etc.
