Weekly Tarot Reading for the week of June 19, 2017
The Moon, Eight of Pentacles, & Knight of Swords
The Moon click here for an in-depth analysis (this week’s card).
The Moon card suggests you take some time this week for some introspection. You may be repressing feelings and thoughts tied to a negative experience hoping that if you ignore them, they may simply disappear. Nothing can be further than the truth. Instead, they’ll linger and at times come out to play, clouding your thinking and deceiving your perception, which can cause your further pain.
Another possibility is you may find that things are not how they seem. Things may appear to be fine at work, at home, with friends or with family, but there may be something deceptive or shady occurring, or someone isn’t being completely truthful with you or they may be trying to manipulate you.
Eight of Pentacles –
This is a time when you are ready to commit to improving your talents and skills. You have the talent and have much to offer therefore, the potential and now you’ve realized it for yourself. If you dedicate yourself, hunker down to further your knowledge/studies, and practice your craft as much as you can, you will eventually experience success. It might be a slow road, but it will be steady. So be patient, stay focused, and keep your eye on the ball.
Knight of Swords –
When this Knight gets an idea in his head, all he sees is a green light and he charges right into it. He is fearless, eager, enthusiastic, and confident.
The Knight of Swords indicates a time when you are realizing your potential and you’re finally finding your place and purpose. You are finding your direction and you’re a ball of energy and enthusiasm; you want to move forward on this path immediately.
Being fearless and ‘going for it’ can be positive traits if, you think before you make your move which this Knight unfortunately sometimes does not do. He can be impetuous and impatient. Watch for this and be careful. On the other hand, he is diplomatic, intelligent, and a great communicator.
One card is from the Major Arcana and two cards are from the Minor Arcana.
Major Arcana aka Trumps represent well-known archetypal energies, stages of development, life lessons and/or milestones, many of us experience throughout our lives. They hold more weight than the Minor cards in a reading, because they are associated with pivotal events that permeate our lives. The Majors act as signposts on the road of life and it’s our choice with path to take
The Minor Arcana which represent our day-to-day lives; our ups and downs, challenges and opportunities.
Suits: 1 Pentacles, 1 Swords, 0 Cups or Wands
In this reading, the cards are considered a linear pattern with all the figure looking or their body is facing to the right.¹
The Knight is the most active card and it’s the last on the right. The Moon starts us off with some soul-searching and being wary of something elusive, followed by the Eight of Pentacles suggesting you have decided to commit to improving your talents. It ends with the Knight, who has finally found his way and taking his ideas and putting them into action without hesitation.
The week begins with some introspection in The Moon card, allowing repressed feeling to surface so that you deal with them and release yourself from their hold on you. Another possibility, is that someone or something may not be what they seem. Be on the look out for this and their deceit.
The Eight of Pentacles indicates a time when you have decided to dedicate your time and energy to your talents/skill and becoming the best you can be. With the energy and characteristics of the Knight of Swords, it seems you are quite enthusiastic about this and can’t wait to get started. While you learn more and practice this skill, you will feel confident and fearless. However, remember the Eight says you to be patient because this success will not happen overnight the way the Knight would hope. Although the progress may be slower than you hope, it will be steady.
Have a great week!
