Weekly Tarot Reading for the week of June 5, 2017
Eight of Cups, Knight of Pentacles, & Nine of Cups
Eight of Cups click here for an in-depth analysis (this week’s card).
This is a good time to bring any difficulties/struggles to an end. You may be in a relationship, romantic or platonic, that is not serving you well and deep down you may know it’s time to say good-bye. Or possibly you’re currently working at a job that is no longer satisfying. Regardless of the situation, you may not be able to see it now, but moving away from this person or job is best for you.
You’re probably nervous and scared however, the Universe is there for you (as well as friends and family) and in the end, you’ll feel transformed by this. You’ll be happier, have a better sense of self, and this will be a lesson you will surely learn from.
Knight of Pentacles –
The Knight of Pentacles indicates you’re a meticulous hard worker, in fact you’re a perfectionist, and that your hard work may soon pay off. Although the progress has been slow, it’s been steady and if you stay dedicated and focused on your goals, this progress will continue. This is a confirmation that you are on the right path for success.
Nine of Cups –
The Nine of Cups is also known as the ‘wish card’. It can indicate you’re deepest wishes, dreams, or desires coming true. If you have been hoping and working toward landing a job or a promotion, this card suggests it may happen soon. Maybe you’re wishing to meet someone new or for you and your partner to take to the next level, once again, maybe this will soon happen. This is a Cups cards therefore, it tends to speak of an emotional desire. However, it can also represent a time when it seems like everything is going just the way you’d hope for and nothing could be better.
All three cards are from the Minor Arcana which represent our day-to-day lives; our ups and downs, challenges and opportunities.
2 Cups and 1 Pentacle; 0 Wand, Swords, or Majors.
Cups are associate with the element Water:
The Heart – I Feel/Emotions
Cups Keywords: All emotions, all different kinds of love, all kinds of relationships, feelings, receptivity, intuition, the subconscious, your dreams, your imagination, your vision, artistic creativity.
Pentacles are associated with the Earth:
The body – I Possess/Physical
Pentacles Keywords: Materials things, money, resources, stability, work for physical reward, health, finances, practicality, being grounded.
This week you may be dealing with an overload of emotions regarding love, relationships, family, or friends along with staying grounded and being stable.
We have a sequence of 8 & 9.
This is a little difficult to point to a sequence with only two cards, but this can suggest a growing from the eights who’s energy is outward, expanding, and striving towards the nines. While the nines are all about attainment and conclusions leading to hopefully the ten.
I began including directionality in my reading a few weeks ago however, there really isn’t any to analyze in this reading. The Hanson-Roberts Tarot is an up close look at the traditional scenes in the RWS and as you can see both the Knight and man in the 9W is looking straight at us. What I can say is that the figure in the 8C is walking away but possibly towards the other two cards and this would make sense.
Summary – Pulling the three cards together:
This week will definitely begin will emotional turmoil with the Eight of Cups guiding you to end this path you are currently on. It’s bringing you down and is not bringing out the best in you. While this time is scary and can make you feel alone or not understood, try to trust in the Universe that this is the best decision and in the future, you will look back on it with appreciation that you were strong enough to make the choice, get through it, and learn from it.
The Knight of Pentacles is nudging you to embody the energies of this Knight by being patient with yourself and not to expect too much too fast. If you commit yourself to the process/transition and stay strong, you will continue to make progress. This pain is going to take some time to heal from and the Nine of Wands implies you will eventually get there and everything will feel right again. You are going to then be your best self. You’ll feel free and be renewed.
But…I don’t suspect this will all happen in a week <wink>
Regardless, have a great week!
