Weekly Tarot Reading for the week of May 29, 2017
Eight of Swords, Eight of Staves & Ten of Cups
Eight of Swords– click here for an in-depth analysis (this week’s card).
This week you may find yourself feeling restricted or trapped by your job, your partner, or things is everyday life such as obligations, bills, and family responsibilities. But the Eight of Swords message is that you have the ability and the power to break free and be free and once you make that first step, you’ll be surprised how much easier it was that you previously thought. You’ll be able to let go of all that fear and worry that was holding you back.
Eight of Staves (Wands) –
The Eight of Wands suggest fast movement and possible travel.
This is an exciting card; it is full of optimism, enthusiasm, and high energy. You have so many ideas and your creative juices are flowing and you want to act on them now. This week you may find yourself setting these ideas in motion or you could be traveling.
Ten of Cups –
The Ten of Cups is all about happiness, feeling content and complete. What you value emotionally (cups) and what you value in your relationships with family and friends. If you’ve been having issues with any of these people, you may find this week that these issues will be resolved and harmony is restored. You’re realizing just how important it is to have bonds with your loved ones and you’ll appreciate the time you have with them and the love and support they give you.
All three cards are from the Minor Arcana which represent our day-to-day lives; our ups and downs, challenges and opportunities.
Suits: 1 Wand, 1 Cup, and 1 Sword; 0 Pentacles
This reading is pretty even balanced but there will probably a lack of focus on your material world and an even focus on creativity/career, emotions, and mental clarity.
Two out of three cards are eights.
The Sevens are a time to look within and the Eights are a time to reach outward and expand. They are about power and abundance. The Eight’s energy is strength (Major Arcana #8) and vision and seeing it through to the Nine. Keywords: Achievement, movement, authority, expanding, maturity, prosperity, mastery.
In this reading, the central card is a choice.¹
The woman in the Eight of Sword and the man in the Eight of Staves both have their back towards each other. The man is running towards the Ten of Cups. He is making a choice to move away from the limitations of the 8S and towards the happiness and contentment in the Ten of Cups.
This week may begin with you feeling trapped in someway but the Eight of Swords lets you know you have the power to change this and in the Eight of Staves you are doing it quickly. You have be motivated to change and to do it fast. You are the figure in the card running away from the situation in the 8S and running to the happiness and joy in the Ten of Cups. You may need to rely on family and/or friends to help you break free of what is binding you and in the end, you will feel grateful, happy, and you’ll have your power back knowing that you have people who care for you and love you. In the middle of this the 8W suggest you may travel and this may be a unique and important experience.
Have a great week!
