This is your reading for the weekend of May 27 & 28, 2017
This weekend I chose a Rune (Elder Futhark) to set the theme/focus for this general reading and then drew two Tarot cards.
Rune – The theme/focus of the Reading:
7. Gebo (sound G)
Gebo means gift and is found under Freyr/Freyja’s aett (first magical group), the aett of the nurturer.
Gebo represents gifts of sacrifice and generosity; it unites the gift and the giver. A modern way to look at is balanced exchanges (equal give and take), sharing, receiving power, integrating two opposites, harmony, partnerships of all kinds, and the act of giving in all its forms; love and material.
Old English Rune Poem¹
A gift returns to adorn the giver
with greatness and honor; it helps
and heartens those who have nothing.
Tarot associations: The Lovers, The High Priestess
Page of Pentacles and Eight of Pentacles
Page of Pentacles
This weekend you may be feeling like you want to learn new things, gain knowledge, or learn a new skill. Once you commit yourself, you have the potential to master this skill and find success.
Another aspect of the Page of Pentacles is a message of a dream beginning to come true. You have the enthusiasm and motivation to do what you need to get things going.
Eight of Pentacles
The Eight of Pentacles, known as the ‘apprentice’ card suggests practicing your skills and talents to become the best you can be. You have the determination and dedication needed to master your talent, skill, or job. You also have the right attitude to be diligent and to apply yourself to whatever you commit to.
Two Pentacle cards and 0 Wand, Cups, or Swords, Majors
This reading clearly suggests this weekend will be all about your material/physical world and less or not at all about your spiritual/creative, emotional/feeling or mental/thing worlds.
Gebo’s focus for this reading is all about gifts which include opportunities and with the two pentacles, this is cleary what Gebo represents.
There are so many commonalities in the Page and Eight of Pentacles.
Pages want to learn and expand. They are the least developed in the ranks (Page through King) and they have similar energy as the Fool with their innocence, newness, and blind faith. They’re so excited to try and learn new things and they love to dream but the Page of Pentacles want to begin to turn that dream into a reality. With the Eight of Pentacles, this is all about perfecting your craft but could also represent a new skill to learn or taking a hobby and making into a profession. Either way, Gebo offers the opportunity to pursue the dream in the Page and perfect it in the Eight.
This will be a positive weekend, have a good one!
And…for those of you in the USA, I hope you enjoy this Memorial Day weekend!Have fun and be safe.
