Weekly Tarot Reading for the week of April 17, 2017
Five of Pentacles, Five of Wands, & the Hermit
Five of Pentacles – click here for an in-depth analysis (this week’s card)
This week you may feel a financial related loss of some sort. This could point to a loss in an investment, a loss of a raise, loss of your job, or even your residence. However, this could instead point to an emotional loss, such as feeling insecure and lonely romantically or even regarding friends. Another possibility is you may be under the weather this week; you may become ill or need to deal with a health issue.
There is no way to sugar coat this card. But the silver lining is, there’s hope. You have people willing to help you get through this and should accept their assistance. There are also things you can do to help yourself. Be resourceful and explore all opportunities.
Five of Wands –
The Five of Wands suggest some competition in the air. Whether it be at work or in your love life. Is it possible, you’re hoping for a promotion and a colleague is also hoping and competing for the same promotion. Be on the look out because this could be the ‘loss’ the Five of Pentacles was speaking of.
With the same theory with romance. Do you have your eye one someone and competing for their affection with another. Again this could be the loss.
The loss you may experience in the Five of Pentacles may cause tension.
The Hermit –
The Hermit card lies among the Major Arcana and holds the most weight in this reading.
This week may be a good time to take some private and alone time for reflection and some soul-searching. This card suggests you may overcome some challenges and could learn from these experiences and thus become wiser. This is a time for insight and inner guidance.
The Hermit could be warning you to not isolate yourself due to what ever is happening in the last two cards.
Major Arcana cards represent archetypal energies, stages of development, and life lessons/milestones, many of us experience throughout our lives.
Whereas Minor Arcana cards represent our day-to-day lives; our ups and downs, challenges and opportunities.
Two 5s – Keywords: change, freedom, progressive, rebellion, instability, difficulties, impulsiveness , impatient, quick movement, risks.
After the stability in the fours, we are now being faced with challenges of the fives. We’re being forced or encouraged to adapt and adjust. But, change is not always a bad thing.
Directionality – In the Five of Pentacles, the man is looking towards the past and the woman won’t even raise her head. In the Five of Wands, the characters are so busy sparring each other, they could easily miss what’s happening around them. Then we have the Hermit – he’s facing towards them and holding up his lantern, to shine his light upon all of them. This is what the Hermit does.
It seems as though this week might be a bumpy one and you could find yourself dealing with struggles left and right. The loss you initially suffer, could cause much tension and quarrelling. Take a step back and reflect. Allow the Hermit’s lantern to shine light on your current situation; light amongst the darkness. Accept help from others and don’t give up. In the end, you’ll learn a lot about yourself and as a result, you’ll be stronger and wiser.
